What is Prejudice? Where have you seen it and what are the effects?

Prejudice is a racial/ religious/ national/ etc. discrimiation without knowledge. Basically prejudice is judging a book by its cover, without really reading it. Prejudice is seen almost everywhere; wheter it happens in a nation, a community, or even a school. I think prejudice is mostly seen amongst individuals. At school, on the first day of school and there are new kids, you judge them by the way they look, and their first impression on you. After they react a certain way, you decide thats how they usually are, and if you dont like it, then you dont bother talking to that person. Even though that i do that sometimes, i think that its wrong. You never know if they act a certain way because they are nervous or maybe they have a 'problem' in their family or something. The effect of prejuice is a chance. A chance to meet new people and different personalities. You might miss your chance of a good friend. By being prejuice, you are taking that chance.

If i may assert, if that is the correct word for it, i would say that you got a bit of wrong wording. It isn't 'without knowledge', its more of 'without reason'. Also, a better example would be judging the book by glancing momentarily at an abscure book review. Prejudice is more of a racism, thinking that all, lots say, hispanics are short or something like that, rather than a first impression on a specific Hispanic person. Hitler didn't like Jews, he didn't dislike a specific Jew and decide that he didn't like the rest. I think that you are impling by obscure means that a prejudice is a bad first impression. Well, prejudice isn't necesarily bad. It could be just any unreasoned thought but since it is mostly used for negative purposes, such as the Holocaust, it is thought of as a bad thing. I think that you might be minimizing the point on your personal experiences with prejudice. About saying that prejudice is wrong. Well, everyone is going to say that; it is a politically correct answer which would come out of the mouths of any politician who knows the rules of political correctness, regardless of a genuine good or bad personality. Then again, i guess that prejudice could be a bit of a first impression. Deciding or judging a person. Then again, you do have a bit of reason. Say that you see this guy who keeps tripping all the time you see him. You conclude that he is a klutz/ accident prone person and that all of his kind are like that. Tripping is being somewhat of a klutz/ accident prone so you have your reason right there. (this may not be very good political correctness.) But in secret, that person might just be nervous around you (especially if you are you, then i would be nervous around you as well). Overall, i conclude with evidence from all the blogs that i have seen that prejudice is getting the wrong idea of someone without much logical reason. You may think that i am critizing you down to the last word but i'm sure that you can find some random euphemism that you can put in place of it.

Dude stop these Ciber bullying!!haha JK yo~ Anthony your wrong too this doesnt have to be a "fact" man this is a blog and you dont have the right to say that her "opinion" is wrong.
Without knowledge can also mean with out reason. And, I also think that prejudice is bad so what.

Yo~man I liked the example of prejudice, how you described the book cover. I think prejudice is bad because it is basicly judging others without knowing anything about them. I think we should all be careful of prejudice, we should try not to do it.

Don't be mean to Anthony!! haha
he's probably in a bad mood and stressed out..
I didn't think prejudice was every where.. i thought prejudice
happened really rarely. I didn't notice there was so much prejudice in our lives that we didn't notice. i thought prejudice was only big things like the holocaust but i learnt that it can be things like judging something by just looking at the front cover of a book.

Oooohh ANTHONY! You sound like a NERD!!!!!!! Hahhahahahahaha have you been studying? Hahaha.
SOPHIA!
I like the way you compared prejudice and the reader. I also agree with the fact that if you judge others by their first impression you might lose the chance to meet and get to know other person.

GREAT WORK SOPHIA !!!
I really agree everything what you said. I also think that having prejudice is very wrong because it is not the way of treating people in right way.

I like the example of cover too, like JINDOOOOO haha
I think you are right because many people judge person or thing by just looking at their outside.

Keep up girl and
